I don’t think it would be possible to have a full blog on the practical aspects of cooking aboard without a proper introduction to a good cup of coffee. Fresh grounds, a good plastic French Press and scorching hot water are a good way to start.
How hot? All the way hot up until but not quite boiling. How much water? More than you think you need. Have enough for an extra cup. And for someone else motoring up in the dingy. How much coffee grounds? Well,… enough to make a good hearty brew.
We like to simply boil water on the stove. Pour in the water – over the sink. Let it steep. Ahhhhh.
